WELCOME TO THE FIRST SUSTAINABLE ART EXHIBITION / AUCTION

"It is with great pleasure and pride that we are partnering with ChangeNOW to organise this auction of works by committed artists. We need ambitious and disruptive projects, like those supported by ChangeNOW, to change people's minds."

Julien Pradels, General Director, Christie's France

Meet Camille de Foresta, our auctioneer

Camille de Foresta, Asian Arts specialist, is doing us the honour of being at the gavel for this charity sale. The young auctioneer confided to The Art Newspaper: "I like the warmth of auctions, [...] it's a job where the human element is paramount". However, it is with great energy and creativity that she will be testing this original auction format, as all the bidders will be on the phone, and her desk will be in the Palais des Congrès.

Appointed 'Commissaire-priseur' in 2010, Camille de Foresta started her career in an international auction house at the Valuations department, and later joined their Asian Art department.

Camille joined Christie's Paris in 2016 as Specialist in Asian art, with a focus on business-getting. Helping to establish records, she auctioned a gilt-bronze figure of Buddha from the Liao dynasty for €13.5M in 2016, the Lionel and Danielle Fournier of Himalayan Art in 2018 for a total of €3.5M and a Coromandel screen from the Kangxi period for €2.1M in 2019.

In 2018, she organized the thematic sale Japonism, showing the influence of Japanese art on Western art in the late 19th/early 20th century mixing Japanese prints and works of art with Art nouveau jewelry, Gallé furniture, Nabis paintings, Art Deco lacquer, and more.

Camille is also passionate for fashion and Haute Couture, and was in charge of the sale Rencontres Couture à Paris Collection Didier Ludot in 2015, Catherine Deneuve Yves Saint Laurent : De mode et d'amitié in 2019 and the worldwide record for an Haute Couture piece at auction: the Yves Saint Laurent Sunflowers jacket after Van Gogh sold in 2019 for €382,000.

Door of a Citroën ZX from a car scrapyard in Romainville, near Paris. Functional motor.

Aerosol and acrylic on car body.

"On The Road Again" was made with the support of SUEZ and was created specifically for this sale.
      107 x 110 cm
The window door is functional and leaves it to the owner to turn it up and down, creating a visual effect proper to the artist's style.
  • THESE WORKS ARE NEITHER 'GREEN' NOR ACTIVIST, THEY DO NOT DEAL WITH ECOLOGY AS A THEME, BUT INTEGRATE IT INTO THE CREATIVE PROCESS.

    Buy Art with a Purpose

Support Sustainable Creation and "low-carbon art"

Taking part in this historic auction will have a double impact. The funds raised thanks to your bid will be shared between the artists who offered their outstanding and sustainable works, and ChangeNOW Communities, a non-profit that will help other artists who create low carbon pieces. Indeed, the Prize for Sustainable Creation will grant one or more artists and give them enough funding to create a new work of art, that will remain their own, and be exhibited at ChangeNOW 2022. A Jury of pluridisciplinary professionals is being put together in order to guarantee the most accurate selection.

It will also fund the ChangeNOW Communities Days for Sustainable Creation, a series of phygital events gathering game changers in the field of Art and Transition (artists, collectors, galleries, institutions, scientists...) to exchange, learn and build together the future of #MoreArtLessCarbon.

In a few words, thank you to all bidders for your support, please do not hesitate to contact us and notify your interest for any lot (Contact or Enquire button).

*All the works are in the artists' studios or galleries. The prices of the works do not include transport, a cost that should be covered by the buyer.
